After the worst swim in my life in Kona, I moved through on the bike and jumped off 7 minutes dwon on Chris lieto and 3 minutes up on the chase group. Perfect posiiton. I was with Norman Stadler and tried to motivate him to push with me on the run. I could see in his eyes that his fight for the day was over.

On the Queen K I really opened up on the bike. I rode a great day and ripped through the field with the 2nd fastest bike split of the day. I was feeling incredible, but had a few cramps creeping up coming into town.

My bike in 2009 was a real weapon all year. It was my trump card I thought for the title in 2009. Unfortunately I swam too bad and was on the chase from the beginning.

My bad swim this year cost me big time. Here I am with the second group going up Palani Hill. It was a terrible day in the water but the start of a great day on the bike.

I was so organised this year myself and Terenzo where the first to check our bikes this year.

Sitting at the house in Kona with my closest friends and family. The night before any Ironman is a little hectic. Making sure I have everything ready for the morning.

Riding Latigo with Ronnie on a super hot day in LA 3 weeks prior to Kona this year

Training up through Latigo Canyon with the Suisse Boys prior to Kona this year. Great fun with these boys and incredibly hot weather to work out in. I think this ride was 110 degrees (43 celcius). It was super hot

I flew up my key massage therapist Dave Cavaco from Australia to join me in LA for 2 weeks. I was having a few issues with my shins after camp and needed some serious deep tissue work. Dave has the best hands in the business and jumped on the plane. He came to the Malibu Triathlon and was able to meet Jeremy Piven one of his favourite actors. He had a great time in LA and did wonders with my legs.

My key training partner Paul Ambrose joined me in Hidden Hills for a training ride through the hills here in Santa Monica. Here we are at Julies House about to leave. I pulled my UA compression socks on for the photo. It was a hot hard ride. Jonatahn toker from Salt stick joined us.

We were motopacing behind this Honda at 45 miles per hour, along the queen K in Hawaii when we were pulled over by the police for......... Speeding. After explaining what we were doing we were able to get out of this tight Jam. It was a funny day on camp. The Plice officer was actually really cool and let us off with a warning.

This has to be one of my favourite triathlon races in the World. The event is run for an incredible cause, MESP puts on an amazing race and its always good to race solid guys. I cant parise this race enough and this is a great shot with everyone smiling after a tough hit out. If you havent raced here, put it on the list of must do races.

My 3 year old Sienna absolutely loves Triathlon and being at the races. The energy and the music of these events keeps her smiling all day. I just love taking her to races and watching her scream and yell. Along with her sister Tahlia they are without question my biggest fan club.

The swim race that kicked off the Ironman is the famour Roughwater swim event in Waikiki. We were on training camp in Kona so flew over for the race. Tim Marr, Myself, and Terenzo had a ball in the 2.4 mile ocean swim.

The greatest thing about this sport of Triathlon is the friends you meet. The race in Malibu has become a yearly event for us and a great opportunity to catch up with some of our dearest friends. In this photo are my close friends, Rob and Irene from Las Vegas and Jason Alexander who is a mate from California. Good seeing you guys. Look forward to our next outing together. We have the same photo from the year prior only our friends the Murphys could not make it out this year.

Even Hollywood star like to talk about the event after the race. Here I share a few laughs with one of my favourite TV actors, Jeremy piven from HBO's hit show Entourage.

Malibu is a great event and it is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to enjoy our sport. Jeremy piven completed his first Triathlon as a member of a Team. He had a great day.

This is a lovely shot of Emma Jane in Malibu. We had not seen eachother for 3 weeks as I was in training camp. Her and the girls came up to support me at our home base in LA. They flew in from Australia a couple of days earlier. Awesome

That was a tough race and I have never been so happy to see a finish line. A tough race with tough competitors, and super hot conditions.
