The season under way now! McCormack wins a record-tying fourth Wildflower

Before Chris will find some time to report about this spectacular race himself and give you his very personal view and impression, I quote from InsideTriahtlon.

McCormack’s win in 4:00:33 makes him four for four at Wildflower

(2001, 2002, 2004, 2008).
»This victory ties him with Boulder’s Cameron Widoff (1995, 1997, 1998,1999) for the most overall victories at the place they call The Woodstock of Triathlon.

Llanos and McCormack overcame a 5 to 7 minute advantage enjoyed by defending champion Bjorn Andersson of Sweden (2:16:03) and super biker Chris Lieto (2:15:41) after the hilly 56-mile bike. McCormack’s race-best 1:14:59 run and Llano’s second best 1:15:59 half marathon propelled the two duelists past Lieto at Mile 9 of the run and carried McCormack to the fourth-fastest time overall in Wildflower history«.

For all Macca fans some good news from Germany: Normann Stadler, one of Chris' fiercest competitors got beaten in Buschhütten, Germany's traditional kick-off race of the  season. He finished in 7th place.

I really don't understand why I should be happy for Normann's 7th place

Best wishes to Macca for the great victory. A great race for a great athlete.
But I can't understand the happyness about the 7th place of Norman Stadler at Buschhütten because only strong competitors pushes Macca to great results. I hope all triathletes going to Frankfurt and Roth in July and Kona in October will be untroubled from injuries and we all see great showdowns at this places!

Best regards from germany!

Way to go - beautiful win at Wildflower! Interestly, I recently saw a Chinese lunar calendar and it said that 2008 was the "Year of the MACCA!"
