Triathlon is infectious! It really is that simple. Actually I think what is infectious about our sport, is positive energy and just plane positivity. The word, lifestyle, gets tossed around a fair bit nowadays as people are looking for other ways to get the most out of their lives while they have it, but Triathlon is positive lifestyle.

A Whirlwind month and more to come

November 27, 2009

I think I start every blog by saying I intend to write a lot more, but these past 4 weeks have been incredibly busy. I am finally back in Sydney and have time to take a breather and sit down and write a blog. I am home for 10 days before I fly up to Monaco for a presentation dinner with the Formula 1 boys on December 11. That will be a quick trip but a lot of fun. As a F1 fan, I am looking forward to talking cars and racing with the boys. I will be home in Sydney after that and back to some solid training and consistency to kick off the new season. I am looking forward to it.

Emma's Corner - Christmas Time

November 13, 2009

Hi Everyone,

Hope everyone is well and staying healthy. It is getting towards that time of year when it gets busy and hectic. In Australia we are moving towards summer and school holidays. Busy times ahead but very enjoyable. Can you believe that Christmas is only 7 weeks away? It is crazy.

Being Inspired

I have to say, preparing for an Ironman is sometimes easier than the commitments you have post Ironman Hawaii each year. It has been much longer than I anticipated between this blog and my last blog so I do apoligize. I will keep this one relatively short, as my Kona wrap up was much longer than I thought.

Well I was hoping to get a blog in prior to the race in Kona, but those last few days before the big dance is always tough. I apoligise and thank everyone who sent messages of support through my email, twitter and facebook accounts. I was bombarded and touched. I write this blog from Australia. I am finally home with my girls and have to say life does not get any better than this. I have uploaded some photos from the race to my site here and will throw some more video up over the next few days. We have so much foootage it is crazy. I will throw it all up today, as we start to plan our season for 2010.

I am back in Kona after a great two weeks with my family in LA. I have uploaded a few photos on my site from some of the training sessions we got done in LA through the Canyons north of Santa Monica. It was awesome. I managed to get a lot of the heavy ride work done with the Suisse Boys who were staying in Westlake. Ronnie finished 4th last year in Kona and was actually only 45 seconds slower than the winner on land. He lost the race last year in the swim, so when it comes to bike and run, he is definately one of the best in the World. Ronnie was great to wrk out with, and his mates where solid boys aswell.

Well I have to say sorry it has been so long since my last blog. The days seem to all roll into one and with Chris away,  school and kids birthdays, before you know it I have lost 6 weeks. We have all just flown back to Australia, from a trip to Los Angeles, to spend 2 weeks with Chris before he heads into Hawaii. With School on this year, the girls will not be coming up to Hawaii, so we thought a nice trip to LA would be perfect during the school holidays. It was planned all year and the girls were so excited to see Chris and all our friends in the USA.

Back to LA for a Couple of Weeks

The training block we got done in Hawaii was awesome. Terenzo Bozzone will be a big player in the Ironman for sure. If not this year I expect Terenzo to really push for the win at this event in the near future. He is an awesome training partner and a very disciplined, yet open, athlete. I enjoyed training with him a lot, and he added a lot to myself with his raw speed and his fleet footed running. When we planned on going to Kona we were looking for some great athletes to work with. Whenever you are on training camp, the most important thing is that the athletes you work with, need to gel very well. Tired athletes can get quite grumpy, so personality clashes can often get magnified. Tim Marr and Terenzo were a perfect mix.
