The training block we got done in Hawaii was awesome. Terenzo Bozzone will be a big player in the Ironman for sure. If not this year I expect Terenzo to really push for the win at this event in the near future. He is an awesome training partner and a very disciplined, yet open, athlete. I enjoyed training with him a lot, and he added a lot to myself with his raw speed and his fleet footed running. When we planned on going to Kona we were looking for some great athletes to work with. Whenever you are on training camp, the most important thing is that the athletes you work with, need to gel very well. Tired athletes can get quite grumpy, so personality clashes can often get magnified. Tim Marr and Terenzo were a perfect mix.

More of the Same
September 05, 2009Well its been three days since my last blog and not much has changed here in Kona. We have really ramped up the volume of our training and put together some serious work over the last 3-4 days. It has been unreal. Terenzo is feeling much better and Tim Marr has got his form back so we have smashed out almost 300 miles in riding and 60 miles in running these last 4 days. The wind and heat have been up here in Kona aswell, so we are pretty tired.
Catching Up - Kona Camp
September 01, 2009Well the last few weeks have been hectic. Terenzo Bozzone hooked up with me in Sydney in Mid August and we began doing some training together before heading off to camp in Kona. We flew through the philippines on the way to compete in the inaugural Ironman 70.3 Philippines event in Cam Sur. It was a remarkable event and we had a wonderful time. I have uploaded some photos from the trip into my media photo gallery on the site here. Check them out!

Interveiw from the Website - First Off The Bike
August 24, 2009Chris McCormack is man looking for redemption. A 20 cent cable malfunction last season in Kona saw Macca finishing the bike leg in the tech truck and not with the lead bunch as he envisaged. Since then Macca has gone back to the drawing board to work on some new tricks for his return to the big island. We speak to him about that, his feelings on the new FINA suits, Chrissie Wellington and being a good loser.
How have you rated your season so far?
Pretty good. I started a little earlier than normal and did the 70.3 in Singapore, I don't usually start a big racing campaign that early in March. But I raced myself into some good form. It usually takes three or four races to find my legs. I started to come good when I hit Europe.
Off To Training Camp in Kona
August 23, 2009The Kona build
August 06, 2009Well it is 10 weeks now until Kona and my training has started to ramp up a bit. I have been back home in Sydney and just starting to log up some good miles and build consistency into my weekly program. The weather here has been amazing, and more than anything I am glad I came home after my European racing season, and recovered at sea level. The last couple of years I was returning to Boulder Colorado ,and to high altitude, and my recovery definately took much longer. I feel amazing right now, and my power numbers are right up. The sea level break was a great decision and my team made the right choice here.
Macca to Race in Malibu and Mexico
August 01, 2009In his final preparation for the Hawaii Ironman World championships on October 10, Chris McCormack has added two final events to his racing calander in a final tweak to his road to Kona 2009. In what has been a remarkable season, Macca confirmed from his base in Sydney Australia, that these two races presented perfectly and would give him the final hitout prior to his big race in Kona three weeks later.

July 30, 2009Foundations and Support:
I got lots of emails from people through the site over the last 10 days and one of the common themes was - What do Chris and I like to do outside of Triathlon. I have decided to spend my next three blogs on this topic and for this blog I really saw this as a great opportunity to discuss many of the people we associate with and support. In particular I saw it as a great opportunity to highlight the foundations we work with.
