European Season Opener - Macca 2nd at Ironman70.3 Austria
June 01, 2010The Ironman70.3 Austria is the kick off to the European Ironman racing season. Unlike the USA, where the continent is flooded with more than 20 Ironman 70.3 races, The European continent has only 4 and thus every Ironman70.3 race is stacked across all ages. This was definitely the case in the mens race with more than 120 professional men lining up for the start of the most competitive Ironman70.3 event of the season so far.
Tour Of California
June 01, 2010Well its not everyday you get to race the Worlds best cyclists, so when the offer was put to me I jumped at the opportunity. To be honest, it was not the opportunity to race the best bike riders in the World that excited me, it was the chance to rip it up on the streets of LA, on closed roads with thousands of spectators that I thought would be the coolest.

Love a Triathletes life - Tour of California, European Championships and Family
May 17, 2010Well to be honest I have not posted a blog in the last few weeks as I have been absolutely run ragged on my www.facebook.com/maccalive site. I have had a few competitions on my site and have given away a few wetsuits, some sponsor product and even some saddles from Specialized. I thoroughly enjoy interacting with all the amazing people that do our sport, and have enjoyed talking with so many people. This has given me the desire to rebuild my website here and make it a much more interactive experience for everyone. I have found athlete websites to be so bland and boring and often find that people don't get a real perception of the athlete. as a person.
A Hectic 6-Weeks but Super Productive
April 26, 2010<!--StartFragment-->
Well the early part of any of my seasons is always super busy, but this year more than ever we had a heavily booked schedule. I will be honest, I thoroughly enjoy the travel and the sponsorship commitments. It is great getting out and meeting so many wonderful people and living the lifestyle that is pretty cool. The thing that is tough about the travel is trying to mix training into a schedule that is packed with photo shoots, meetings, flights, filming, Presentations, Talks and dinners. At times it can be super tough but you manage to find some break in the turmoil by returning to something you love, working out!

Now in its third year this event has grown to be one of the biggest triathlon races in the East Coast and brings in all the celebrities for he first taste of Triathlon.

Well for those of you who follow my twitter (@chrisjmacca ) or are fans on my facebook page, you will be aware of my hectic last few weeks. I am actually writing this blog somewhere over the Pacific Ocean, between Hawaii and Los Angeles. I am heading back to LA after spending 8 days on the big Island of Hawaii training and racing.
Macca repeats in Hawaii's Lavaman Triathlon
March 30, 2010For the 2nd year in a row, World Champion Triathlete Chris McCormack won the annual Lavaman Triathlon in record time. This year he was pushed closely by Bermuda Olympian Tyler Butterfield to break his course record by 25 seconds from the year prior. Butterfield crossed the line 32 seconds later to just miss McCormack's old course record.
